QAV and L-Acoustics Create the Ultimate Home Theater Experience
QAV, a Colorado-based company, has created an extraordinary home theater experience in its Centennial showroom. This project was a transcendent experience for Tyson Rabani, QAV’s Founder and CEO. As an award-winning HTA-certified company known for its creativity, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail, QAV’s new Home Theater embodies these qualities. The company’s goal was to completely renovate their space to showcase the latest streamlined technologies and demonstrate how they can bring joy to any home. A key aspect of the project was upgrading the home theater experience, and Rabani recognized the fundamental role audio would play in this redesign. It was during a visit to L-Acoustics in Westlake Village, California, that he realized its transformative potential on the home theater market.
The Challenge
QAV, an award-winning HTA-certified company, had already received recognition for their innovative showroom space, earning a Crestron Global Award for Best Demo Space in 2019. However, they sought to elevate their home theater experience further by showcasing the latest streamlined technologies and demonstrating how they can bring joy to every home.
The challenge lay in creating a home theater experience that was high-performance, immersive, and seamlessly integrated with the room’s design. QAV aimed to achieve a truly immersive and impactful experience by concealing all speakers and subwoofers, ensuring that the technology did not detract from the overall aesthetic. This commitment to both technological excellence and design aesthetics posed a significant challenge, requiring a solution that could deliver exceptional audio performance while remaining virtually invisible within the room’s design.
The Solution
QAV partnered with L-Acoustics to design and install a state-of-the-art home theater system that would provide an immersive and impactful cinematic experience for its discerning clientele. QAV entrusted L-Acoustics with the task of designing a cutting-edge loudspeaker system tailored to their clients’ unique needs. Our engineers meticulously crafted an 11.1.6 immersive audio system, capable of reproducing Dolby Atmos content with exceptional detail and resolution. The system comprises:
Amplification and Control: Two LA7.16i multi-channel amplified controllers efficiently power the entire system, while an LS10 network switch handles seamless connectivity to the Storm Audio ISP MK3 processor.
LCR Channels: Syva 2-way passive colinear speakers and Syva Low 12” subwoofers, renowned for their exceptional clarity and dynamic range, provide a captivating front soundstage.
Surround and Rear Channels: Ultra-compact X4i speakers paired with SB6i subwoofers deliver precise and enveloping surround sound, placing viewers in the heart of the action.
Height Channels: Six strategically positioned X4i speakers create a realistic and immersive overhead soundscape, adding a crucial dimension to the Dolby Atmos experience.
Low-Frequency Extension: Four additional Syva Subs ensure even and powerful LFE coverage across all nine seats in the theater, delivering a truly visceral impact.
